  7. ICAM DNC Module is a data management and data communication software. In terms
  8. of program requirements, machine parameters and machine data, CAD/CAM systems
  9. involve a great deal of data which is consolidated under the global heading
  10.  "NC-data". The term DNC is an abbreviation for Distributing NC data, and the
  11. module handles storage of this data according to different catalogs. It
  12. prepares a directory for storage of several individual files, e.g.
  13. classification according to customer, application or machine, etc. The same
  14. NC-data can also be sorted into different files. The NC data can be designated
  15. either by number, name or date. There is also a field for individual commentary
  16. for the data. The communication package supplied with the ICAM DNC Module
  17. ensures that the NC data will be properly transferred to the respective CNC
  18. machine. The package handles data acquisition for the machine complement and
  19. all peripherals so that the module has a clear survey regarding the machines
  20. and units which can be operated. This gives a systematic preparation,
  21. transmission and receipt of the NC data. ICAM DNC also has a data management
  22. package responsible for data security. Data for the machine complement is also
